2023-24 年 RI 社長年度主題：

“Creating Hope in the World”

Rotary International President-elect R. Gordon R. McInally called on its

members to capture the world’s attention and lead people toward
possibilities far beyond our current expectations.

McKinnally, a member of the Rotary Club of South Queensferry, West

Lothian, Scotland, revealed the 2023-24 President’s theme “Creating
Hope in the World” during the Rotary International Convention in

Orlando, Florida, USA on January 9. “. He urged members to promote

peace in the troubled country, help those affected by conflict and

maintain the momentum of initiatives launched by previous leaders.

“Our goal is to revive hope—to help the world recover from destructive
conflict, which in turn helps us achieve lasting change for ourselves,”

McInnery said at Rotary’s annual training event for incoming district

directors Say.
McInally spoke of a woman he met in Ban Taling Chan, Thailand,

where Rotarians helped build houses, conference halls, and childcare

and health care facilities after the tsunami that swept through South

Asia in late 2004. This woman lost her husband, her mother, daughter

and son, and her livelihood in the tsunami. But she still had a gift for
McInnery: a beautiful seashell.

“She went on to tell me that Rotary ... restored her optimism. We gave

her hope,” McInnally said.
“This is how Rotary brings lasting change to the world,” he added, “a

restoration or a new creation of hope.”
