Additionally, McInnally said Rotary members should bring hope to
those impacted by mental health challenges -- a crisis exacerbated

by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many have lost family members, and

many more have found their social networks uprooted, and especially

the education and development of young people interrupted. As a
result, more and more people in the world are facing mental health

problems. However, asking for help is often seen as a sign of weakness.

“That’s not the case,” McInnally said. “It’s brave to ask for help—and

even more so to stay on the path to health.”
He added that Rotary will work to improve mental health services over

the next year and beyond. McInnally said Rotary should be known as

an organization that cares about both its members and those it serves.

“Any mental health professional will tell you that by helping others, we
            are actually helping ourselves.”

McInally concluded his presentation by describing his ideal balance

between continuity and innovation. “Rotary helps create the
conditions for peace, opportunity and a future worth living in,” he said.

“By continuing to do what we do best, by remaining open and willing

to change, and by remaining focused on building peace in the world

and within ourselves, Rotary helps create a more peaceful world — a

            world with more hope.”
